“Focus on the Fox” Highlights FWHP’s Designation as National Recreational Trail

In their fall 2013 Newsletter, Focus on the Fox highlights our most recent achievement – designation as a National Recreational Trail. This designation makes us part of America’s nationwide trail system, a program focused on advocating for the care, use and economic development of great trails. We recently launched two projects to specifically address our objective of historical preservation, improving access and developing the future of the Fox-Wisconsin waterway. The first focuses on access to the waterway where we plan to install fifteen ADA accessible landings so that people of all abilities can enjoy the water trail. The second initiative focuses on preservation of our waterway’s history where we plan to restore and renovate the first historical locktender house along the river.

To complete this project the Fox-Wisconsin Heritage Parkway would like to ask our supporters for their help.
