Electricity in Dining Room! 10.17.14

Oh my, what a week!

We have a fully electrified basement and first floor (minus the kitchen)! That is so wonderful and liberating to not have the extension cords all over the floor …. to not have to grope around in the dark to find where the lamps are when you first walk in …. simply amazing to be able to flip a switch and light appears on the wall! Thank you to Faith Technologies for donating this service. Clark has been wonderful to work with!

And then Clark says we need a plan sooner rather than later for the layout of the kitchen so he knows where to put the outlets. I call Studio Kitchens in Appleton, and she arranges her schedule to come out the next day, and offers to donate her design services!! She is wonderful, and we are thrilled! Nancy, the owner, said she was excited to work on the project because it was the first time she will get the chance to design an actual period kitchen that will be 100% period, not just a throwback. Super cool!!! Thank you, Nancy!

And as if that were not enough, Gene Janssen from the Little Chute Historic Society helped find us a period ice chest and metal kitchen table! They were delivered to the house today. So, we have our first furnishings. (pictures of those to come)

It is coming together and I again and always am humbled by the community of it all. Priceless!
