Waterwalk Set For Release

Appleton – Michigan Blue Lake Production Group has announced the May release of WaterWalk, a feature film shot on location here, in the Upper Peninsula, and in Wisconsin, Iowa, Missouri, and Illinois.

This family friendly father-son bonding drama will premiere in Appleton April 30 at Marcus Appleton East, and in Green Bay at Marcus Bay Park Theater on May 4.  Appleton actors April Paul and Wisconsin native Richard Riehle who has appeared in over 200 features will speak at the Appleton premiere.

The film will also be shown at three Milwaukee area Marcus theaters  in Mequon, Menomonee Falls, New Berlin as well as many other cinemas across the state in May. In addition to screenings in Michigan, Missouri, Kansas, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio and Minnesota this feature will appear at select locations in Virginia, California, New Mexico , New York and France.

WaterWalk is based on the true story of Steve and Justin Faulkner’s attempt to become the first single canoe team to paddle the 1,000 mile Mississippi River discovery route pioneered by French missionary Jacques Marquette and fur trader Louis Joliet in 1673.

Directed by co-star Robert Cicchini, well known for his film and television career ,(Godfather III, Dream Girls, The Mentalist, Law and Order, Six Feet Under), WaterWalk also features 19 year-old Chase Maser in his first lead role.  Maser appears in five other films set for release this year. Cinematographer Bruce Schermer was director of photography on Sundance Grand Prize winner Chameleon Street and shot most of Michael Moore’s first Film, Roger & Me.

Filmed on location in Lake Michigan and along the Fox, Wisconsin, and Mississippi Rivers from St. Ignace to St. Louis, the movie includes scenes in Green Bay, Oconto, Appleton, Oshkosh, Portage, Spring Green, Boscobel and Prairie du Chien.  Much of the footage takes place along the scenic Fox/Wisconsin Parkway corridor.

Wisconsin actors in the film include Doug Mancheski, April Paul, Angela Iannone, Deborah Staples, Lee Ernst,  Jacque Troy, Laura Gray, John McGivern, Shayne Steliga, Sidd Valicharla, Eva Balistrieri and Lori Woodall.

Composer Rod Schaub, produced award winning Up From The Bottoms which appeared recently on PBS.   The film’s producer, Roger Rapoport, co-wrote the screenplay with Richard Harris.
